Sweet Earth Glow

Why do I need to scrub my skin?

Your skin needs to be well maintained to preform at its best. Along with cleaning your skin, it needs the dead stuff vigorously removed and then moisturized. Scrubbing helps circulation, prevents ingrown hairs and blemishes and helps to keep psoriasis and eczema clean from slough and relieves itchiness.

How do I use the scrub?

You can use scrub on wet or dry skin. Scoop a tablespoon worth in your fingers & scrub. You can scrub as light or as hard as you feel comfortable with. You will want to keep the scrub in the container as dry as possible, if you heat an oil to blend, it will likely become solid again when mixed with water and sugar or salt.

Why sugar, why not salt?

You can use both or either! If you use salt on a recently waxed or shaven body area, it will burn and irritate your skin. You can use white or brown sugar and the smaller granules the effectiveness you will have as larger granules will just be abrasive.

Is sugar or salt scrub okay to use on my face?

Most scrubs are pretty abrasive for our sensitive facial tissue. Depending on the sensitivity of your facial tissue, the oils and fragrance/essential oils may aggravate issues you may have or have had in the past. There are better products formulated for face cleansing and exfoliating that will sooth and keep your tissue healthy.

How long will my scrub last?

When using fresh ingredients like picking plants and using them without drying them, or using fresh juices or honey to accentuate your scrub can shorten the shelf life. These fresh items can mold quickly when mixed with oils. However, if you make a small batch versus and large batch and use them regularly, this may not be an issue for you.
